Our first sunrise...with a corona and a glass of wine, that's right - it's 6am!
Secret Beach - it was so picturesque! My favorite scenic beach.
Wailua Waterfalls - amazing!
Polihale Beach - the west beach - we went off roading on a little one way dirt path in our rental Chevy Cobalt to get here! It was well worth the drive. Nick packed a dinner and a couple corona's and it was perfect. This was Nick's favorite moment. We set the camera self timer and had fun taking pictures of ourselves. I felt like we were on the edge of the earth as we gazed out at the vast pacific ocean and watched the sun sink into the ocean. It is a feeling I won't soon forget, if ever.

Queen's Bath. This was our first "GEM" adventure. We had the best guidebook - a P.A. I use to work with said it was must-have and gave it to me before we left. Every morning we would open our guidebook and pick a "GEM" (a "not to be missed" place) and off we go onto our next adventure. Of course I was the navigator and Nick - the pilot. I got my fix here of jumping off something, and cannon-balled into MY awesome bath tub! To my surprise, Nick even jumped! I think after he saw a 10 year old girl do it, he had to man up.
We found this pool just down the lava rocks from Queen's Bath. We dubbed this one,"King's Bath!"

The night of our Anniversary. We had an awesome dinner of local fish and prime rib and creme brulee for dessert (Nick's first time trying brulee and he loved it!).

Our log. Every night we would go down to our log and chat. It became our tradition. It was so peaceful - the sound of the ocean, the moonlight on the sea so we could watch the waves lap up onto the beach, the palm trees swaying from the breeze- it is something I wish we could do every night. It was so rejuvinating to be rid of the daily monotony of life's routines. This trip enabled us to spend our time with each other away from the usual stresses of life. We realized how much we needed it and we both were so grateful to be able to have this time together.
